P.E. SPORT PREMIUM FUNDING:

Following the London 2012 Olympics, the Government agreed to invest over £450million in school sports funding up to 2016 and in the last Parliament this was agreed to be extended until at least 2020, partially funded for by the introduction of the “sugar-tax”, and linked to the Government’s Childhood Obesity Plan. We are lucky enough for this to continue this academic year, developing children’s skills within physical education.

This is known as Sport Premium funding and is ring fenced in school to be spent solely on school sport and P.E.  This year (2024/2025) we will receive £19,150.

Schools are held accountable by Ofsted regarding the spending of this grant and Ofsted will report on how we spend our Sport Premium funding.

Improvements that have been made due to the Sports Premium Budget, allow opportunities to be provided for all children across school. If the Sports Premium Budget was to be ceased, Front Street children will have the resources to develop their physical education and teaching staff will have the knowledge to deliver PE lessons to the children due to their regular CPD sessions due to the coaches that we currently have in school.
