At Front Street Primary School, we offer a curriculum which is broad and balanced and builds on the knowledge , understanding and skills of all children, whatever their starting points, as they progress through the school.  As a community school we are committed to working collaboratively with families, outside agencies and the wider community to achieve shared goals.

Across the curriculum we incorporate our school drivers of ambitious, resilient, inclusive, relevant, ready, progressive and independent into all subjects and these can be further explained within each subject area.

Our inclusive curriculum is ambitiousprogressive, and relevant with links to the real world. We want our children to be resilient and independent learners ready for the next stage of their education.

The curriculum incorporates the statutory requirements of the National Curriculum and other experiences and opportunities which best meet the leaning development needs of the pupils in our school.

In all our provision, both academic and otherwise, we endeavour for our school community to develop an understanding of British values and a strong desire to uphold them both now and as future British citizens.

We aim to develop our children’s Cultural Capital across all areas of the curriculum and in our everyday ‘life’ at school. This includes the following areas:

  • Personal skills
  • Cooperative and Collaborative skills
  • Communication skills
  • Resilience and Ambition
  • Imaginative and Inquisitive skills
