On Thursday afternoon, a group of Year Sixes travelled to Gateshead Civic Centre to sing during the ceremony which welcomes people to officially become UK citizens.
As well as singing, we were able to watch the whole ceremony take place. The Mayor of Gateshead, The Lord Lieutenant and lots of other official people were present.
Sixteen nationalities were represented during this ceremony and listening to the oath of citizenship was a once in a lifetime opportunity to see our British values in action.
Our singing was very well received and afterwards many of the people who had attended the event stopped us to say how much they enjoyed the songs and our drumming.
As always Front Street staff were left feeling incredibly proud of the polite and mature behaviour which our children demonstrated.
