Our Year 5 children have been using Cuisenaire rods to develop their understanding of decimals through practical, hands-on learning. By exploring wholes and tenths, they have been building decimal numbers and strengthening their understanding of place value.
The children enjoyed using the colourful rods to represent their mathematical thinking, discuss their ideas with classmates, and explain their reasoning.
