Last year Mastering Number was a new programme that Front Street introduced into KS1 and the children absolutely loved it!!! As well as being practical and fun it also helped to embed their mathematical understanding too. The key resource we used was a ‘rekenrek’ and this week session 3 saw the rekenrek being introduced to the children and they thoroughly enjoyed learning how to do ‘one push 3’ ‘put the rekenrek to rest’ etc
