Our RE ambassadors represented Front Street this week on a visit to Saltwell Park. They met a member of the Royal British Legion, who shared the story of how poppies are linked to Remembrance. He explained how the Poppy Appeal began, and what different coloured poppies represent. He also showed us that the Garden of Remembrance doesn’t just have crosses in it – if you look at the photos, you can see symbols of different religions, too.
The children laid crosses in the Front Street section of the Garden of Remembrance. They wrote special messages, saying thank you to all the brave people who have made sacrifices to keep us safe.
