This morning Reception had a fantastic morning with Lois, Karen and Andrea from Nissan Sunderland. We started off by learning some interesting facts-

  • Sunderland Nissan is 10 times the size of the metro centre. It takes around 8 hours to walk around the Sunderland Nissan Plant, which is roughly 8 miles!
  • Nissan started in Japan.
  • Daruma- in Japan they have this ceremony. Before the event they colour in one eye and at the end they colour in the second eye.
  • Sunderland Nissan make two cars every minute!
  • Nissan have made 93 million cars since opening in 1933.
  • Nissan have made a called Pivo. We danced to the Pivo song!

We then did different activities!

  • We made our own cars out of Lego in 4 groups. Our car could be anything! We had 15 minutes for this task.
  • We designed our own car, using any colours we wanted to to make it our own.
  • We watched a Nissan cartoon video which showed us how to make a car – ride to the future! We looked at designs of cars, the technology behind the cars and we learnt it can take up to two years to have your design made!
