Reception have been working on and creating their own maps. We started looking at maps from fairytales based on the characters journey to and from their homes. We then made our own maps using objects to show these journeys.
We used Google Map street view and started at our school! We then used photos of our favourite places in Whickham and came up with directions to get to them on Google’s Maps. Once we had stuck our picture onto the paper we then drew the directions from the school, labelling left, right and straight on.
To finish our map work off we created our very own maps. This was from our school to our house! We spoke about what we pass on our journeys and which way we turn to get to school.
