Our RE ambassadors represented Front Street this week, on a visit to Saltwell Park. They met a member of the Royal British Legion, who shared the story of how poppies came to be used for Remembrance Day. They talked about what different coloured poppies represent, and he explained what the different symbols in the Garden of Remembrance represent, including those of different religions and worldviews.
The children laid crosses in the Front Street section of the Garden of Remembrance. The crosses had special messages on from our pupils, saying ‘thank you’ to all those who fought to keep our country safe and peaceful.
