Palaeontologists are scientists who study the history of life on Earth through fossil records. Fossils are the evidence of past life on the planet and can include those formed from animal bodies or their imprints.
Earlier this week, we made scientific models of fossils out of layers of bread and jelly sweets. We left them to harden under the pressure of some heavy books. Today, we became palaeontologists and carefully dug into our models to see what had formed. We could see ridges and shapes of the animals (jelly sweets).
