Administration Assistant

Working Pattern: Full time

Salary: Grade E, £26,824 – £28,142 pro rata to Tern time only and depending on length of service

Hours per week: 37 hours per week term-time only

The Governors and Headteacher of Front Street Primary School wish to appoint an organised, proactive, and friendly administrator to join our successful, friendly and thriving team from May 2026.

Key Responsibilities

Front-office reception duties including answering telephone calls, greeting and signing in visitors, and managing enquiries.

Act as first point of contact for general parent, pupil and visitor enquiries in person, via telephone and email contact.

Handling attendance, pupil records, and general data entry.

Supporting staff with administrative tasks and document preparation.

Managing emails, post, and internal communication systems.

Assisting with safeguarding processes and compliance tasks.

Providing administration and general operational support to ensure the smooth running of the school.

Assist with pupil first aid/welfare duties and liaising with parents.

Assisting with arrangements for visits by school nurses, photographers etc.

Assist in arrangements for school trips, events etc.

Maintain Manual and computerised records.

Undertake financial administration such as processing orders, financial transactions, financial recording, procurement of goods and services.

Applicants need to have:

  • Experience of using MIS systems, ideally Arbor.
  • Relevant and recent experience of working in a customer service or administrative or receptionist role, ideally within a school setting.
  • Good knowledge of ICT, Microsoft Office programmes, such as Word and Excel.
  • Be passionate and dedicated to their job.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Attention to detail.

Salary amounts quoted are full time equivalent from 1st September to 31st August therefore if you commence employment part way through the academic year they will be subject to an equated salary adjustment and will be adjusted to term time only working.
