This afternoon Reception went to Whickham School to take part in the last sporting event of this school year! The theme for today was fun and positive engagement… Front Street ticked both of these boxes! Sun cream, sun hats and water bottles all ready we enjoyed our mini bus ride up the hill talking about what we could see and places we knew!
Some year 7 leaders, along with their PE teacher, lead all of the activities for us. It was lovely to catch up with some pupils who used to attend Front Street. The Reception children found this very interesting and had lots of questions for them!!!
We all enjoyed a round robin of activities. Some of our favourite ones were; volleyball, cricket tasks, throwing and catching, relay runs, hurdles and making a scarecrow! We were able to improve our gross motor skills and worked as a team throughout.
Everyone had a lovely afternoon and can’t wait to return next school year as year 1 children!
