During the summer holidays, our school RRSA mascots, Danny and Daisy, visited the war graves of Polygon Wood, Ypres in Belgium with Mrs Short and her family. They visited the grave of Mrs Short’s Grandad’s cousin who was sadly killed on the first day of the battle of Polygon Wood in September 1917, aged just 17. They learnt about his amazing story and how brave he was at such a young age. We must never forget the sacrifice made by these young people.
