Reception took part in UNICEF ‘Day for Change’ by wearing blue along with the rest of the school. Some children stood at the front in assembly to tell everyone what we had been learning about in Reception linked to the Global Goals. They talked about the 3 ‘R’s’-Reduce, Reuse and Recycle, our trip to the Centre for Life where we learned about wind turbines and animals from around the world, being Health and Safety officers in Reception and how we are all trying hard to be change makers to make the world a better place.
Back in Reception we continued our learning by decorating fish to represent that we are all unique and can all make a difference, played a recycling sorting game, made recycling posters for our classroom and learnt about our rights. We all met the RRSA mascot ‘Danny the dog’ and can’t wait until it’s our turn to take Danny home so he can teach us even more about our rights.
