Here at Front Street, we endeavour to provide the best education possible for all of our pupils in an open and transparent environment. We welcome any feedback that we receive from parents, pupils and third parties, and we accept that not all of this will be positive all of the time. Where concerns are raised the school intends for these to be dealt with:
- Fairly
- Openly
- Promptly
- Without Prejudice
Each day, there will be a member of the SLT present at the beginning and end of the school day on the playground. In the first instance, this is an opportunity for you to discuss any concerns in person. There is also a class email system to liaise with your child’s class teacher and appointments can always be made with the Head Teacher by either speaking to Mrs Gladstone (or Mr Lakey) on the playground, or by contacting the school office. We are always here to listen and to help.
In order to do so, the governing body of Front Street Primary has approved the procedure outlined in the attached policy, which explains what you should do if you have any concerns about the school. All members of staff will be familiar with the procedure and will be happy to assist you.
SEND Related Complaints:
Parent/carers should contact the SENDCo (Mrs Bolton) with any complaints about the provision that a pupil is receiving at school. If the complaint is not resolved, please refer to the above complaints policy.
Parents/carers can contact the Special Educational Needs and Disability Information and Advice Support Service (SENDIASS) which is run by Barnardos in Gateshead (tel 0191 4784667). This is a free, confidential service for young people who have SEND and their parent/carers. The service is available whether or not the young person has an Education Health Care Plan (Single Plan).
Gateshead Council has developed a Local Offer which provides information about education, health and social care support for children and young people with SEND in Gateshead. The Local Offer can be found at www.gateshead.gov.uk/localoffer.
