Reception are having an egg-citing time with the hatching programme!
The children have looked after the eggs egg-Tremely well and managed to hatch all 10 eggs, that’s 100% !!!
The children have learnt that the brown chicks usually to grow into hens and the yellow chicks usually grow into cockerels.
The children have looked carefully and agreed we have 4 girls and 6 boys.
The children decided the chicks had the right to a name, just like their rights. They decided to name them together;
Boys – Charles (after the new king!), Chicky, Mario, Louis, Jack and Zac.
Girls – Brownie, Isabella, Mille and Rainbow.
Over the last few days we have completed a daily chick diary, cleaned, fed and handled the chicks as well as inviting our parents into reception to share this experience with the children.
