Beamish came in to visit us yesterday for the start of our new topic in History, houses and homes. We learnt about what life was like in the recent past. Did you know that all buttons have to be taken off shirts before wash day to prevent them cracking in the mangle, then had to be sown back on when the clothes were dry!
