Today Reception took part in this years ‘day to create’ which was celebrating Artsmark 20 years!
Receptions classroom is hot during the summer and being outside a lot means the children have to think about what they wear and how to keep safe in the sun. Their challenge today was to invent something that would protect them from the sun and something they could use while outside.
We started off with our planning. We came up with a name for our invention and then drew our idea using labels with what we would use. We then made a list of equipment we needed and wrote a plan explaining how we were going to make our invention.
Then the exciting part! We spent the morning making our own inventions! We used boxes, egg containers, toilet roll tubes, feathers, paint, glitter and lids to name just a few! Take a look at what we came up with…
